Ingredients

  • Mutton - 1 kg
  • Onion - 3 (sliced)
  • Ginger Garlic Green Chilli Paste - 4 tbsp
  • Tomato - 2 (chopped)
  • Turmeric Powder - 3/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1.5 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder - 2 tbsp
  • Fennel Powder - 1.5 tbsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coconut Oil

For Coconut Paste:-

  • Grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pr.cooker, saute onion, curry leaves until onion turns pink and soft. Add fennel seeds, ginger garlic green chilli paste and saute further.
  2. Add tomatoes and saute until soft and mushy. Add spice powders, salt and stir until powders releases aroma. Add mutton and mix till masala incorporates into it and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add a cup of hot boiling water, mix well, bring to a boil, check salt and pressure cook until done.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the coconut paste, saute grated coconut and fennel seeds in oil for 5 minutes and blend to fine paste once cooled off.
  5. Once, the mutton is done, pour the coconut paste to the gravy and mix well. Adjust water consistency, if needed. Cook for another 5 minutes. Finally add curry leaves and coconut oil to garnish.
