Chicken Lollipop With Sauce / Chicken Drumsticks With Sauce is a popular Indo-Chinese dish. I cut the chicken winglet loose from the bone end and push the meat down to create a lollipop-like shape. Then, I toss it in sweet chili sauce for extra flavor.

Ingredients

TO MARINATE:-

  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • Corn Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Salt

TO COAT:-

  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Food Color - little (optional)
  • Water
  • Salt

TO TEMPER:-

  • Onion - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Ginger - 1/2 tsp (chopped)
  • Garlic - 1/2 tsp (chopped)
  • Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green Pepper Sauce - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with the ingredients mentioned under "TO MARINATE" and refrigerate for 2 hours or keep overnight.
  2. Make a thick batter with the ingredients mentioned under "TO COAT".
  3. Dip each lollipop into the batter and deep fry until crisp and red color. Keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok, sizzle ginger, garlic and onion for a minute. Add the sauces, salt, pepper powder and mix well. Cook till sauce thickens.
  5. Toss the fried lollipops till the sauce coats well onto it. Garnish with coriander leaves.
